CERTIFICATE OF COMPLEMENTARY PROTECTION

The certificate of complementary protection is connected to pharmaceutical patents and is a title which allows to extend the duration of a patent concerning a specific medicinal or phitosanitary product in order to compensate for the time which has passed between the date of the patent application and the authorisation for the product to be put on sale.

It cannot last more than 5 years.
